Domesday Reloaded: Turvey
In 1986, 900 years after William the Conqueror’s original Domesday Book, the BBC published the Domesday Project, an ambitious attempt to capture the essence of life in the United Kingdom.
People were asked to record what they thought would be of interest in another 1000 years. The results were stored on laser discs but the technology to read these was very expensive and didn't catch on. To prevent it from being lost, the information captured by the project has been uploaded to the BBC website.
